Also relevant, by Yonge: The Making of a Missionary, or Daydreams in Earnest [1900]; Aunt Charlotte's Stories of German History for the Little Ones [a series by country, in the 1870s]; Hannah More [a biography, 1888]; A Book of Worthies: Gathered from the Old Histories and Now Written Anew by the Author of ‘The Heir of Redclyffe’ (London: Macmillan, 1869), Golden Treasury Series , all-male. Cambridge University Library copy of 1862 edition identifies the editor as "By the Author of the 'Heir of Redclyffe.'" The compact volume in brown cloth has a tight zig-zag pattern stamped on the covers. Running headers "Biographies of Good Women" (verso) and the subject's name (recto). The biographies are largely reprints from different magazines, e.g. Anny Gurney, Gentlemen's Magazine 1857; Amalie Sieveking, Englishwoman's Journal , March, 1860. This book apparently was catalogued or shelved alongside a621, Bessie Parkes, Vignettes ; Yonge has Sm. 22, Parkes has Sm. 23 label; on lower spine Parkes is labeled 40 but Yonge is labeled 18.
